While not technically thier Debut, Nevermind by Nirvana was pretty influential too
I agree. Ten is Pearl Jam's best album by far, though Versus (5 against 1) is very good as well. As a debut, Ten made quite an impression on the first time listener. While songs like "Jeremy" received the most airplay, "Alive," "Porch," and "Once" are frontrunners in the angst-induced grunge sound.

A little obscure, but King's X: "Out of the Silent Planet" and "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska" kicked ass. Still do.

Not thier first but I would say most powerful....

KMFDM: Nihil

Or I would say...

Apoptygma Berzerk: 7

Although many of the ones mentioned above are excellent choices as well.

I'm a big fan of King's X, few are..

That guitar tone, I'd kill for that tone

Unhappy

I come from the punk era back when punk was cool, early 80's

Descendents - Milo goes to college
Social Distortion - 1945
Bad Religion - Bad Religion

But I would agree with some of the earlier post, Iron Maiden and Janes Addiction

The Gen gap is pretty interesting

Meatloaf's Bat Out Of Hell. After nearly 30 years just about every track still sounds fresh. The fact that he was never able to achieve anything like the impact of this album again shows its power. Nora Jones first CD may come a close second, though she has to establish some longevity in its listenability.
