Radiohead - The Bends

While not thier best effort, certainly one of the best debut albums of all time. Highliting this fact is how intensely different thier next album, "The Bends" come across to listeners. Following "The Bends" was "OK Computer," which in my opinion is one of the most incredible albums of all time. "Karma Police," was very strong as a single, and is the closest thing to a radio hit on the disc. However, the beauty of that album comes from the overall listening experience when one goes from first to last track. . . but back to "Pablo Honey" as Radiohead's first commercial release. "Creep" solidified the band's place in the alt. rock scene by opening the door to radio play (which the band has recently shunned, especially with releases like, "Kid A"). A wide audience of rock, pop, BritPop, and alternative fans have flocked to Radiohead ever since the release of, "The Bends," thereby marking the album as one of the best debuts of all time.

I really liked Counting Crowes debut, one of the few albums I can listen to all the way through.

For rap my vote would be Arrested Development
And lately I liked Jimmy Eat World and the Matchbox 20 was also a good one (a few years ago)

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Snoop Dogg- Doggystyle yet.

If it wasn't for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, we'd still be listening to grunge.
