Default Best place to buy a suit?

I have a few important job interviews coming up and if everything goes well, this will be the first time I've worked in a professional setting. Where do you recommend I go to get a new suit and business attire?

depends on your budget. if you're willing to spend $500 - $700 (or more), nordstrom is a good place. nice suits, great customer service, and good tailors, and free alterations included in the price of the suit. you also get a nice garment/suit bag with the purchase. IMO, a nice suit (good fabrics, good construction) goes a long way and will last a while, so it's worth it to spend a little more if you can afford to. anyhow, good luck with the interviews!

i've always like men's wearhouse. prices i'm not sure about but they have nice suits, knowledgeable and helpful staff, and they do alterations, too. i was in the same situation, walked in, and they picked out 2 outfits. needless to say, i'm employed!

Nordstrom.
Agree. Got my Hugo Boss 3-button (classic, won't ever go out of style...safe choice) there.

Nordstrom if you want selection, service, and can afford it. They have nice everything.

I prefer Brooks Brothers for my suits. Timeless style, stores everywhere. Oh, and there is a 1/2 off sale on shirts right now! I just got 2 shirts for $80 - not bad. Anyway, they seem to fit me really well too, which plays a big part in finding a good suit. I bought a Jos. A Bank suit once (don't be fooled by their "sale" prices, they're always on sale). Worst fitting suit ever. I had it tailored twice to no avail. Maybe they just have crappy tailors. Point is, find a suit that fits well in the shoulders and across the chest. 2 of my BB suit jackets didn't even need to be tailored other than cuff length.

Men's Warehouse is also a good suggestion if you're looking for a first suit. They'll sell you something nice, for a good price. I've rented a few tuxes from them and the sales people seem to know what they're doing.

Finally, there are a lot of nice suits being made in separates now (you can buy the jacket and pants separately). That way, you can buy a jacket and pants in the exact sizes you need. I know BB does that for some styles, and many other manufacturers are doing the same.

Oh, one last piece of advice. . . NICE SHOES. Seriously, the worst thing I've ever done is buy "cheap" shoes to wear with a suit. The looked cheap, wore cheap, and were uncomfortable as hell. That was $70 down the drain. Spend a little more on some good shoes. They'll last for years, won't kill your feet, and will look like a million bucks with whatever you wear. Learn to polish them. Do it every Sunday.

^^ Brooks Brothers has GREAT shirts. actually, I think they are my favorite for dress shirts -- reasonably priced considering the quality you get. you gotta try their no-iron cotton ones. 100% cotton, yet maintains its crispness thoughout the day without wrinkles. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE, you won't want to try any other shirts.
