a man in a Brooks Brothers suit.
I have a friend, who has a friend whos father works at a Brooks Bros. in New Hampshire. My friend and I are the same size, so he calls his dad and orders 4 suits. Total cost for 4 BB suits with the discount? Just over a grand because my friend also got a few shirts. I gave him $450 for my two.
Will have to do this again, because 2 suits for 450 is the cheapest you'll pay for a shitty pair of suits.

long-weird-relationship for a deal.

A guy I went to law school with happened to go to the Brooks Brothers outlet and catch a group of salesman's samples that had just come in. He ended up with 5 or 6 suits at a ridiculously low price.
To the original poster---like happs said, spend the money to get nice shoes and, also, to get the suit tailored properly. I see too many men in ill-fitting suits.
Are there any good websites for learning about the types of suits available?
I think English men look good in their suites, which I believe are English-cut (I think they are called this). I just bought an Italian-cut. But I don't know what this means. I'm an engineer, though, so I'll rarely need a suit for a while

Thanks for the tips.
I could do $500-$700 for a suit, but I'd rather stay south of $500. I don't find too many occasions to wear a suit, but because these interviews are important, I feel that my old hand-me-down suit needs to be replaced.
I've had good luck at Men's Wearhouse before when renting tuxes or buying shirts, but I wasn't sure if there was somewhere better I should look into.

Oh, one last piece of advice. . . NICE SHOES.
but just as important, if not moreso, is the TIE!!!!
don't buy a $500 suit and then wear a $20 tie...it ruins it.
Woah fellas, he doesn't have the job yet. Get one or two nice, inexpensive suits at Men's Warehouse till you get a few paychecks. Then splurge.
I wore a suit for 27 years, and MW was good enough for me. The styles change, and colors, plus you get tired of the same ole suits, so paying less means new ones more often.

The suit is primarily for the interview and the other rare occasion that I need a suit. I won't be wearing a suit on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis.
