Best place to get/buy MP3's?
to buy, I'd say iTunes... plus it's player organizes music pretty nicely.

Well, I gotta put a plug in for my job:
eMusic.com
We got mostly indie lables and a few majors, with a lot of Electronic, Metal, Classic Rock and Jazz. We're subscription based, with these price levels:
eMusic Basic: $9.99 per month/40 song downloads
eMusic Plus: $14.99 per month/65 song downloads
eMusic Premium: $19.99 per month/90 song downloads
all downloads are high-quality mp3 files with NO DRM! This means you can do whatever you want with them, no restrictions. WMA and the other formats have DRM, so they limit the number of times you can burn them to CD and stuff.
Enjoy.

Definetly usenet/newsgroups. Just filter for groups that have MP3 in thier name. One good one is alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.complete_cd. Probably most people have is the internet provider usually doesnt keep the binaries around very long because of storage issues. There are some subscription places you can pay about 10 bucks for 6 gigs of download, and they keep their binaries around for up to 2 weeks or longer.
