Best restaurant in your area
Oyster's
Location: Pacific Coast Hwy., Corona Del Mar, Calif.
I think I posted elsewhere about Oyster's. Anyway, extremely high quality food,
very professional wait staff, unique menu, comfortable setting and great bar!
Talk about scallops, their scallop and shrimp dish is unbelievable. You've never
tasted scallops as good as these. It's also a comfortable place to be, not "stuffy" !
What more could you ask for!

Yes, very dry, straight up, with a twist.

Now, on to the restaurants... Since you said in my area, I'll stay close by:
Les Sisters - The best Cajun & Soul food this side of the Miss...
Devonshire & Topanga in Chatsworth (2 blocks from me)
For Mexican food lovers, Casa Vega is hard to beat (and they've got a greeeaaat bar - try the sangrita (not sangria, sangrita) with Sauza 3-Gs) on Ventura near Balboa.
Sushi - Sushi Koi in Simi Valley on Topanga Canyon just under the freeway. It's a small hole in the wall, but the sushi chef has great taste in fish, and he won't serve a fish if he can't get a great one that day.
The Palisades on the water in Seattle.
They have a cedar plank cooked platter with filet, salmon, and crab legs.
Oh, and a SEVENTEEN pound "pack horse" lobster!
You enter on walkways going over their salt pools. And what a view!
Damn, I'm hungry.

Locale: Gaithersburg, Maryland
Restaurant: Hakuba
Lobster sashmi and tempura...can you say luxrious? Plus, probably the best Toro and Ika I have ever had. If you are into sushi and other traditional Japanese cuisine, visit Hakuba. They actually have a real Japanese sushi chef, something very rare in the Maryland area.
