Best shows in Vegas?
I saw O a couple of months ago and it was good but I almost would have rather seen Lance Burton again. He puts on a great show.
If you go to a show that has general seating get there early and be ready to "pad the palm" of the matre'di with a few folded bills. I've always gotten excellent seats that way.

I went to alot of shows when I hit Vegas. I too saw Lance Burton, good theatrics but don't you think he could update his "flying vette"? An S would be a nice update. I've seen blue man group as well when they played at Luxor. I highly recommend it.
If theatric shows are too much for the duration of the trip, you could break it up with a comedy show. Penn & Teller should still be at the Rio if I'm not mistaken. Also, don't forget to top off your visit by going to the Imperial Palace's car collection. They have some pristene condition classic cars and a couple of exotics as well.
P.S.--Don't loose your shirt!

BTW, I've also seen Celien Dion (under protest). I went with my in-laws and my wife's grandmother wanted to go so she paid for all 5 tickets. They cost as much as the money I brought to spend just on gambling!
For a "showgirls" type vegas show - try the one at Ballys (can't remember name of show). It was quite good. It does contain lots of topless dancers if that was the type of adult show you were looking for.
Hotel hopping/shopping can easily fill up 3 days. The vegas strip is a few miles long and there is plenty to see and do. I had a brief spell gambling, but mainly just stayed outside doing as much as possible.
The best way to sum Vegas up is that it is like one giant amusement park. Eash hotel is like a themed "land" within the park.
Whilst tix to some shows (like the ones mentioned above) are expensive, there is plenty of free or inexpensive attractions for exmaple:
Fremont street has a great laser(?) light show on the dome roof.
The volcano outside the Mirage hotel,
Bellagio fountains,
Caesars Palace statues,
Treasure Island Pirate show.
The casinos themselves are an attraction.
In terms of food, I found the buffet at the Bellgio to be quite nice. Many hotels have inexpensive buffets.
There are some public buses that go up and down the strip, exact change is required.

My Favorite is "O". There is a reason it has sold out just about every night for 5 years. Decent seats are $125 and I would pay that much to see it a second time. But if you are interested, book online in advance.

Freemont street experience is overrated. The light show is neat to see the canopy lighted up for about ten seconds but is very low tech and most of the stuff looks like it was generated by an old Atari 2600.
Fountains get 100 thumbs up. The concierge at the Bellagio sometimes has a fountain schedule for quests and you can see what music will be played when. If you can find this out take the girlfriend out after dark and make SURE you catch "Con Ti" also know as "Time to Say Goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli (sp?) and Sarah Brightman This will earn huge romance points. I hate opera but this is a GREAT song and will have the GF all ootzy.
Treasure Island pirate show WAS great, now replaced by Sirens of Treasure Island. I once saw two guys humping in the park, and that was the gayest thing I ever saw until I saw Sirens of Treasure Island.
If you are brave, try the Big Shot or Insanity rides at Strat. They are about $15 and will make you crap your pants.
The GF will like Fashion show mall and Forum Shops at Ceasars.
