best state to live?
the city is becoming rather like portland, OR in my opinion.
It seems in the last few years it's becoming diversified..
Trendy and bars springing up.
The city (most of it) is super clean and the women there are amazing.
If you're single i suggest you move there asap.
They also have one of the greatest racing complexes in north america just 20 mins away, Miller Motorsports Park.

i'm thinking about utah...but i'm asian..would i fit in??
I also think SLC would be a good choice. I really like Utah. Even a smaller town like St. George could be nice and it's close enough to run to Vegas for dinner.
ebbai, what is your current job and do you see yourself continuing in that field? Certain areas are better for certain fields. I'm a little biased, so I'll refrain from pushing one state over another, but Texas has a huge Asian population in the major cities. The Dallas metroplex, Austin and Houston have done better than the average city during the economic crisis.

I would recommend Virginia, but then again I was raised there so I might be a little biased.
+ If you live in the Northern part of the state, you have access to a big city (DC) and all of the cultural events it offers.
+ Tons of museums
+ Lots of history (Civil War, Williamsburg, Mount Vernon, etc.),
+ Charming downtowns (Alexandria, Charlottesville, Williamsburg, Fredericksburg)
+ Housing gets affordable when you get about 60 minutes outside DC.
+ You have the beach (VA beach), mountains (Blue Ridge) all within a couple hour drive
+ You get all four seasons (I think this is a bonus)
+ Southern hospitality
+ I have no idea what your life plans are, but Virginia has some of the best state colleges in the country (UVA, William & Mary, Virginia Tech). This would help you if you wanted an advanced degree, or if it is time for your kids to go to school, they could go to any of these schools for a song (tuition at UVA for in state residents is ~$9,500/yr)
