OREGON is home for me. I love it here. I live in the country outside of Eugene. Hawaii is where my family is, so its my second home.

I say California. But if CA is out, Chicago or Phoenix, but honestly anywhere other than Texas. Nobody moves to TX for a good reason, they all move out. (then talk about how great texas is)

I live here and think it is awesome. I can see not enjoying living out in the country here because that isn't for everyone. DFW is awesome for everything, Austin has some hot girls and good music but traffic sucks, and Houston is dirty but still pretty cool. If you can stand how dirty NYC is then Houston is like a fraction of that.

disagree... everyone i've met who lives in Austin raves about how good it is (and isn't moving away)

QFT and as one texan said, they are exporting their dumbasses. How very true that is because when I go to texas, the people there are cool, but when I meet a texan in socal, they are some of the most retarded gloaters I have ever met.

I call it texas tourrets because randomly, in the middle of any sentence or topic, they blurt out "IM FROM TEXAS" and then go on about the conversation like it never happened. They dont even know how to carry out a formal introduction, id swear all their names are "IM FROM TEXAS"

Yeah, I have freinds down in Corpus Christi, that love it down there also.

But, I digress. OREGON is still my vote.

I prefer the states of drunkenness and confusion. . . but that's just me.
I prefer the state of denial, but most of the time I am in Arizona.

Arizona Pros

Excellent selection of dining/bars/clubs (yeah that kind too)
Lots of outdoors things to do
Plenty of Hot Chicks
2-3 hour drive to go skiing (2 hour cheap flights to Utah or Colorado)
Boating/Watersports (most watercraft per capita of any state - at least that is what they say)
Local hiking (8 months of the year - 1 hour drive North for the other 4 months)
No need for winter clothing (unless you ski or play in the snow)
Housing market is currently depressed so you can get a smokin deal

Arizona Cons

Center of the sun hot for 2-3 of the summer months
Crime - spill over Mexican cartel crap (Avg. 1 drug related kidnapping per day)
High auto insurance rates (due to high number of uninsured drivers - somewhere in the 40% range)

Sure there are some others - but hey, I prefer denial. Stay out of the bad areas and you can avoid the crime issue.
