Bi-turbo F50
Does this guy still have any money? (John C. from Doom?)
He musta made one hell of a lot of $ to blow it on all the stupid shit that he is.... the F50 was barely barely faster than the stock version ...i remember seeing it on TV with ice on the engine to cool it off for it's next run........ Nice try, but no results.

Here are a couple more links about John carmack's cars:

There is a question about 3/4 of the way down about his cars:

The whole point with the F50 was creating a car as fast as the F40 without the use of turbos. The end product actually reminds me of the s2000 in some ways. Though the performance of the F50 was about the same as the F40 the engine was quite different, relying on higher rpms to build horsepower, much in the same way that s2000 does. The final product had more HP but less torque than the F40 (540HP 347lbs/ft vs 478HP 423lbs/ft). Kind of reminds me of a certain Honda
Anyway, I've always thought that a naturally aspirated car is more of a pure sports car than one with forced induction, and have always thought of the F50 as more of a true ferrari than the F40. Forced induction is basically a way to add displacement without actually changing the cylinder volume. But you lose driveability since you can't maintain a constant level of boost throughout the rpm range. It's not like ferrari didn't have the budget to put turbos into a $500k car. I'm sure that they believed that it detracted from the F40 (As many ferrari enthusiasts did) and therefore came out with the F50. Putting a turbo on it just takes a ferrari and makes a muscle car with the engine is too powerful for the chassis. Good in a straight line, but a handful around a track.

F40's and F50's are very stunning in person. There are always about 6-10 F40's at the Pebble Beach weekend and there are usually several F50's.
I saw my first yellow F50 last year and I just about fell over. It was stunning. It made almost every living thing just stop and watch as it drove by. Truely a remarkable machine.
I like the F40's in race trim - they look a bit "beefier" with some good wheel flares.

Right now his hobby is building rockets. The big ones.
But really he is a nice guy. I am not saying were are best buds. I have only
talked to him a couple of times and always about cars and computer games.
Oh and he is a big NIN fan.
And his wife is loaded also. She use to fly in her private jet to meet up with
him in Dallas.
