The Verizon 7250 is pretty bulletproof, but I really did not like the ringer. It's very quiet and not loud at all.

If youre going to stick with Verizon, check out the 7130. It plays mp3 poly ringtones and is definitely louder. The only downside is that it is a tad bulky and it doesnt have a full keyboard. I got used to it immediately, but missed the full keyboard.

Switched over to Cingular only because I travel for work overseas. They claim to have the least amount of dropped calls, and one of the largest networks available, but outside of Manhattan, it kinda sucks. I picked up a 7130c and the 8700. I'll use the 7130 when I'm here in the states and have access to a computer, and I'll use the 8700c when I go overseas.

The 'newer' generation of BB's are much nicer than the older ones. Beautiful color screens, great ringtones, themes, etc.

I use the 7290 and like it very much. Have Cingular as the carrier and here in the Dallas area they work great. Also have used outside the country without any issues.
The ring tone is quiet but, you can set up for buzz and tone. I use it as an alert to listen for the tone that it is a call and not an e-mail.
