BMW 330i
The 330 has 225 hp to the stook's 240. While it does have more torque, I think HP wins the race here. At over 3300 pounds, the Bimmer carries almost 15 lbs./HP compared to the Stook's almost 12 lbs./HP. No contest.
I'm going to go against what most people are saying here. Even though 330i has lower 'peak power' that the S2000, it has more power than the S2000 after each shift. When S2000 shifts at redline from 1st to 2nd, you have 'only' about 125kW (165hp) at your disposal at that particlular time. The 330i will at least match the S2000 at that point ... though, from what I gather, it'll be quicker at that instance.
Also, the 330i has much more torque so it's easier to get 'speed' out of it. It's much easier to stuff up the launch in the S2000 then the 330i and even when that happens then the 330i will have an advantage.
There was a recent road test of 330ci here and they managed 6.6 secs for 0-100kph (~6.1 for 0-60mph) and 14.6 secs for 1/4 mile. Look at it this way ... if you get a perfect launch in the S2000 and manage to cross the 1/4 mile point at about 14.2 secs (which is one of the better times from published magazines), then the 330ci will be only 0.4 sec behind - that is equal to about 18m lead at that speed (160kph/100mph) ... that's less than 4 car lenghts at 160kph with perfect launch from the S2000.
Though, despite all that, if you line up the 2 cars and do a 'high revs' launch then the S2000 will win the contest. It will be quicker to 100kph, 400 ... all the way up to 200kph. After that the 330i will be quicker as it is has much better aerodynamics. If you're talking 'maximum' straighline performance, then the S2000 has a higher 'maximum' than the 330i (ie. if you have perfect conditions, drivers and launch in both cars, then the S2000 will be always good 0.5 sec ahead)
So, if you are lining up your friend and if you're doing 'standing start' race then make sure to get a good 'high revs' launch or the 330i will get ahead and you will not catch it before 100mph. If you're doing a 'rolling start' race then make sure that you're starting at a speed that will allow you to be already in VTEC (6k+ revs). Otherwise the 330i will be pulling away from you again.

BB AP1,
No sir...evenly launched, the s2000 will beat the 330.
At an even* takeoff from 50 MPH to 100 MPH plus, the S2000 will beat the 330.
Good luck...your buddy is lucky I'm not racing him, because I would shut him the hell up.
-----------------------
*For an even takeoff from 50 MPH, you better be in 2nd gear already or blip the throttle to 8,000 and downshift to 2nd to coordinate to take off the same time your 330 buddy does.
The 330 is definately easier to get moving, so you have to be in vtec already when you both gun it...you will loose if you are below vtec at any time when you race the 300.
You will also quite possibly loose or seem like you are accelerating the same if the 330 gets the jump on you.

having both cars, i have to say they are both wonderful. my s2k is damn fun to drive while my 330i is a great everyday car...comfortable, plush, and has more than adequate power at disposal. anyway, in terms of speed, i feel the s2k is a little quicker than the 330i as long as you stay in vtec. otherwise, the 330i will probably beat it. whichever is faster, it doesnt matter... i am just reassured to know that i have the power when i need it...in both cars
