Well, I pretty much live for basketball so I have nothing else to think about other than Bob Huggins being ousted as the head coach at the University of Cincinnati. My family has had season tickets for UC basketball since the Shoemaker Center opened, so I have seen them go from nobodies to one of the top programs in the country. I think it is total BS that UC's new president fired him. Yes, I know he got a DUI, but something like 40 professors at the university also have DUI's, and I don't see them being fired. She couldn't have picked a worse time to get rid of him- it is too late to find a good coach now, and 3 of our top recruits have already rescinded their committments. Also, OJ Mayo (the next Lebron) said that he is no longer considering UC now that Huggs is gone. Our president is a total moron- she managed to destroy two of the university's largest sources of income: our basketball program and our donors. One of our largest donors already pulled $20 million from the university, and many others are putting their donations in escrow until Huggins is reinstated (don't hold your breath).

All I can say is that the next few years in UC basketball are going to be ugly...

 

UC's prez is not to bright. Huggins IS Cincinatti basketball PERIOD. Unless they get another Oscar Robertson, or get Bob Huggins back, things aren't looking to bright. It does suck that he got a DUI. Drinking and driving is stupid. But, if the rest of the school employees have been held to a different standard, then the school prez is definitely wrong. There are others way to deal with an employee that gets a DUI. Maybe some kind of probation or community service would be a good idea. She could've also asked him to refer himself to a treatment program. One thing he should of thought about was the responsibility he has as a leader of young men. He definitely did the wrong thing. Fire him, no. Make an example of him, yes.
