Boot Manager Recommendation?
My computer now has Linux and I want to install a boot manager. What do you guys recommend?
Are there any user friendly versions? I was looking into Smart BootManager, but it looks way too intimidating, seeing how it runs off Linux and not know zilch about the OS.
One more thing:
Is it normal for Linux to crash? It's happened three times so far.

one of the advantages of linux is that it is much more stabler than say, microsoft windows. sounds like you have a conflicting hardware/software problem during installation. check the settings, and if worst comes, try doing a fresh install of the o/s.
ASIMO,
Is your purpose just to dual boot between Linux and Windows? I use Red Hat with various versions of Windows, and both LILO and Grub have worked just fine for me. Not sure what your intended purposes are, but if it's just to dual boot, then I would just go with one of those for simplicity.
It's not really "normal" for Linux to crash, but then again, it's not quite "normal" for any OS to crash. Well, ok, except maybe Windows ME.
At any rate, Linux is generally more stable than Windows, but there are a lot of reasons it can crash as well. Without knowing the specifics of what's happening, it's impossible to venture a guess as to what's going on.
Posting your distribution/release of Linux, basic hardware details, and any error messages and circumstances surrounding the crash would yield some clues as to what could be happening.

Okay I don't know what dual booting is so let me explain what I was hoping for. When I start up the computer it boots to Win2k. I have to use the boot floppy to boot to Linux. I would like a program that would give me the option of what OS I would like to boot when I start the computer.
I thought LILO was a boot loader and not a boot manager. I recheck that.
I think the crashes stems form hardware issues. When I was partitioning my hard drive it had an error or two. But it worked perfectly fine after that. My hard drives would also occasionally let out this high pitched squeal. The squeal isn't too loud and doesn't bother me.
Anyways, Linux crashes whenever I open the CD burning program. I've had some problems with my CD-Writer before with my computer in Win2k mode, so I think it the CD Drive. A new driver would probably fix the problem.
I also have this graphical bug that would appear whenever there is a mild graphical program running, like a screensaver or the Linux racing game. A box which inverts the colors on the screen appears at the center of the screen. It quite annoying, but it goes away after some time or whenever I start up some other program.
My system:
RedHat Linux 9 | Win2k
Soyo motherboard
PIII 866, overclocked to ~975
256 Megs of Ram
120 Gig Western Digital hard Drive
HP CD-Writer 9100+ Series
ATI 128 graphics card
If you need more info let me know.
I'll post the error whenever it occurs again.
Thanks for the help
