What happens when new version of a book won't play in the 1st generation Kindle and you have to buy the latest and greatest Kindle?
has that happened before? not even sure if that's possible.

regarding your previous post:
A book never runs out of battery power, never needs to be recharged, never hard to read in the sun, never breaks when you drop it, never suddenly vanishes when a virus attacks never becomes obsolete when a new operating system comes out. In fact I could probably write a book on how a hardcopy book is better than the electronic version.
a kindle (at least the one i have, v2 i believe), runs for 12-14 days on a single charge. it charges in a few hours. it isn't hard to read in the sun, cuz it's nearly the same as actual text on paper. i don't think anyone's writing viruses for kindles, but who knows. if you buy your books then i don't think there's really a risk of it getting blown out.

plus all of your purchases are recorded online; you can download previously purchased books anytime you want to any of your kindle devices. try it before you knock it! just my opinion.

I heard awhile back Barnes and Nobels buying up all the college book stores that they could.

I know that ASU here in AZ has been offered some pretty fat stacks of cash from Barnes and Nobels but I think they said take a hike for now.

Nothing like college bookstores making that money.
