if the product is still good and the price hasn't increase, then sure, why not?? but when it comes to toilet paper, i just buy whatever's on sale, regardless of brand.

I had a similar question with the new products that offered 25% more, but they never had a product that offered anything less. There must be a single can of that product in the CEO's office that has 25% less just so the rest of them can make that claim
Oh, that would just piss me off.

Mabye I'm just picky but the cheapo stuff is like wiping with emery cloth.

Cheap TP makes my bunghole

I'm loyal to GM and Honda. I only buy coffee from my shop. Smack Ramen above all others and Prarie Farms makes damn fine cottage cheese.

If someone has a coupon for something similar, I usually give it a try.

There were absolutely no changes to the product or package except the name change. I said that was stupid and I wouldn't buy the new name product on principle alone. Would you keep buying products even if they changed the name "just because"?

If....
Captain Morgan became Admiral Morgan
Good Housekeeping became Great Housekeeping
What - no option for us fence sitters? There are plenty of things I'd do/wouldn't do out of principal but I think it depends on what the product was and how happy I was with it.

If BAR Honda became something else, would you stop supporting them?

If Williams BMW became...

Do you get my point?

are you buying the name or the product inside? Why would you care what it was called, or whether they changed the name? I guess I just don't see what the big deal is.

In the TP case, I'd be buying the product. The name is just for remembering the product. If there's no change to the product (and especially if it's a good product), there shouldn't need to be a name change. It's just some dickhead marketing guy's idea of improvement.

Change: To create the illusion of progress.

So what TP brand changed it's name anyway?

BTW, when Nestle's Quick changed it's name to NesQuick, I was pissed. The previous name had been around forever and now it sounds like some sport drink. Not that the product was any worse, but it almost feels like it's being changed b/c of todays younger generation and Nestle wanting to appear "fresh."

It's kinda like that feeling you get when kids of the late 90's were watching Power Rangers and you were thinking the whole time "what kind of gay rip off of Transformers is this and why in the world is it popular? Our shows where so much better than this crap."
