I've already said why I reopened the thread. You guys do have the right to understand why a person has been banned, that's the purpose of this thread, and to ask questions to understand the situation.
The fact of the matter is Rosario broke the rules, numerous times, and he was warned to not continue, these warnings were ignored. The result of his actions resulted in a ban. If you guys want to be angry and upset that he's gone you're free to do so, but your anger is focused at the wrong person. Ask Rosario why he felt he could ignore the rules and why he felt they didn't/don't apply to him.
We have a very diverse group of people who visit this forum daily, and although some of you may not have issue with some comments made, the same isn't true for everyone. Not everyone has the same sense of humor or disregard for people's feelings. This site is for everyone, not just the select few who frequent the status updates.
We do not remove posts for fun, we do not delete comments if we don't personally agree with them, and we do not do this for a power trip. We remove content that violates the terms of service, which every single one of you agreed to abide by when you joined this forum. If you do not abide by the rules, there are repercussions, plain and simple.
Rosario repeatedly ignored those rules and warnings and this is the result.

You care about the general perception of you, not about what we actually want. I'm not not naive enough to think they are one in the same.
Bottom line is that you did what you wanted and even if the entire rest of the community opposed it as long as you could find a way to spin it with some minor justification you think that is sufficient.
So is that why some of the most important questions have gone unanswered and ignored? Ex: Why was it upped to a permaban? Why not just a X day/month suspension. etc.
You can keep trying to spin it however you want but we all know if this came down to a vote he wouldn't be permabanned.
[/quote]
You must be joking. If all I cared about was how I'm perceived I wouldn't be a moderator. The amount of times I've been told to "f$&k off" and swore at in general for upholding the rules by people who do not or choose not to read the rules is obscene. Go check the feedback section and see how many times I've been directly involved with removing of scammers, thieves and scum who've stolen money from members here. I do care, we all care.
What we will not tolerate is continued breaking of the rules, by anyone, including your beloved Rosie. In regards to ban versus suspension, we looked at his history and warnings and realized he's not going to change his ways, he was suspended before, but obviously you've all conveniently forgot that.
Some comments aren't excusable, plain and simple and there's no apology that makes it okay, this is one of those cases.
They did what they felt was right by there so called rules and not what was best for the community. Who ever makes these rules should focus on the scammers and thieves here rather than worrying about sensitive people on a public forum. If folks here are sensitive about comments please sell your s2k and drive a beetle. it's much cuter for you and will fit your sensitive side a bit better
Try selling your S2k for a Miata and see if you can even get away with a fourth of what was said by Rosario on Miata.net.

I never said that was all you cared about in totality, only in relation to that matter. I said "You care about the general perception of you, not about what we actually want." No need to try and twist it into something bigger. My point still stands. You don't care what we think is right or wrong, just about what you think is right or wrong.
Sounds like you have a pretty shit protocol for suspensions/bannings then. Most (large) forums have a point system that is clearly outlined and visible to the user as far as where they are and how far they are from the next penalty... not just an arbitrary group of admins deciding on a whim that the initial suspension isn't enough and upping it to a permaban.
Whatever. I was going to write more but its obvious you're all white knights can't stand his dirty words tarnishing your white cloaks.
The internet is becoming a sad place when Facebook is emerging as one of the strongest platforms for free speech.

We aren't idiots, so please don't imply that we are. In case you are unaware, IP addresses are specific to users when they sign up, yours just so happens to match a certain individual this thread is discussing.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence, yeah, just a coincidence.

Again, you're wrong. You all think we're evil, power tripping assholes, etc, for banning rosario and because you guys want him back, we should simply do what you ask.
Here's a link to the rules - https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/648998-the-rules/
We have a point system, look under your avatar and you'll see the warn status (yours is clear btw). The point system is a 3 strikes you're out policy. In some cases, the point system is not considered relevant, this is the case for scammers, spammers, thieves, etc, they don't get warnings, they are simply banned. In cases such as rosario, he had warnings, he was previously suspended and yet he continued to post what he did. He didn't learn from the warnings or suspension, he had opportunities to change, we gave second chances, we can only give someone so many chances to change.
He's been banned due to the result of his own actions.

I don't think that we all think that you all are what you mentioned. My opinion of you has not changed, in fact it has gotten better since this whole mess has started. But my post about the HOA is somewhat true about several members of the staff. I did not want this to turn into a finger pointing name calling post, which it has...from both sides. I now believe this post was a total waste of energy from both sides...I just wanted to let folks speak out about what we believe to be a bit severe. I also knew that we would push for something that was not going to happen.
I think we all have more important issues in our lives and probably need to move on and handle those issues. Unfortunately I don't think the "experience" of s2ki.com will be the same for a lot of us moving forward.
Again I thank you Sam for bringing this post back to life, just wish it would have gone a bit smoother.
