Buying a car from out of state
I've done it to get my S. Just keep in mind that you are taking a big risk in getting the car since you are so far off from home. Assuming everything checks out okay, and you don't mind the Carfax report, (I suggest asking the person to take the car for inspection before you leave, at your expense.
) here's a few things to keep in mind :
Get the title notarized, BEFORE you go out there. This means that you own the car, and if you are going through a bank (i.e. a loan) the process may be a bit different. Get some proof of ownership on top of that too.
And you can always meet at the bank and pick up/fork over the cashier's check for the car after inspecting the car in front of the bank. Nice public place too in case anything goes wrong.
