Default Camera Experts

okay, so a few months back i had my digital camera stolen right out of my purse at a party. it was a practically brand new olympus, really nice, i paid $299 for it... i LOVED that camera. for a few reasons i came to the conclusion that one of my "friends" had stolen it, which totally sucks. the fact that she kept insisting to my other friend that they leave - "jen, let's go! jen! come on let's go...." as soon as i announced to everyone that the camera was missing was a little suspicious. everyone in the house with the exception of my two suspects helped me look for the camera, which never turned up... then the two suspects kept trying to convince me that i was just drunk and had probably misplaced it. i had 1 beer and specifically remembered putting the camera back into my purse and setting the purse on a table. i turned my back for about 10 mins. and it was gone... there are a few other reasons and i'm 99.9% positive that one of the two of them stole the camera.

anyway, the point of this thread is that the one girl in particular, the one who kept insisting on leaving after i noticed my camera was gone has suddenly had really good quality pictures on her page. if you look at her older pictures, they're all disposable camera pictures. i know for a fact that most of them were taken with a disposable cause i was there when she was using it... LATELY she's had really sharp good quality pictures. my question is if i posted some of the pictures i took before the cam got stolen and some of the ones she has on her myspace now... could you guys be able to tell me if they came from the same camera. i know it wouldn't be scientific, just a guess... but i don't know. it really bugs me. especially since this was supposed to be a friend....

also, if you guys have advice on how to approach her about it... i don't know, maybe i should just suck it up and let it go. it just really bugs me, especially since i'm still paying off the $200 that i put on my best buy card.

If you give us a link to the pictures or post them here theres a good chance that we could make out what camera model it is

Sure, post the pictures, but she has to be in a tiny bikini

Pictures taken with digital cameras often times add certain properties to pictures. Get her to send a copy of the pictures in the original format. Go the the folder in which they're located in, right click->Properties->Summary->Advanced. There is should give the "Equipment Make", "Camera Model", etc.

Please post a picture that you thought was good quality (and might be your camera) from your friends pictures, and I can find out the exif data on it and see if it is from your camera. A lot of cameras have this feature these days. If your friend is smart and knowlegable, then the exif date ca be stripped off. If you don't feel comfortable posting any pics just PM me one.

This exact same thing happened to a friend of mine. They were acquintences though, not friends. I'm not sure what happened after. I don't think she ever got her camera back and did notice shiny new pictures posted online from these other girls.

...come to think of it...do I know you?

i don't think i'd be able to get the pictures in the original format. if she did steal the camera, which i'm pretty much positive she did, than she'll just be onto me and tell me she won't send them to me or just ignore me and then take all the "picture evidence" off of her myspace. soooo.... pretty much all i have to work with is the pics she has posted on her myspace. oh and i traced back to her photobucket...you don't need a password to get into it. mostly she just has old pictures taken with her disposable/scanned onto the comp. and .gifs but there are about 4-5 pictures in there that I took with the camera BEFORE it got stolen and were on the memory card when she stole the cam. if you get into her photobucket can you tell where she uploaded the pics from? i'm pretty sure i've never uploaded those pictures to the internet and the only way she could have them is if she uploaded them from my memory card...

anyway, i'm at work right now and i'm not really comfortable posting up the pics right now but they're coming...
