Can A Plane Take Off On A Treadmill?

The speed of the treadmill has been proven irrelevant. The plane's thrust must overcome the friction of the bearings in the wheels AND THAT'S IT. After that, we can pretend the treadmill isn't there.

I NEVER said it wouldn't take off. Read my original post.
But, whatever.
Besides, what would I know about aircraft. Not like I worked on military aircraft for 6+ years...

Working on planes as you have it is surprising you would make the wrong assumption most people make at first. Then again, the pilot on Mythbusters made the same assumption.

That I do understand. So tell me, if the plane is just sitting there on this treadmill, what happens?

The problem with that question is that a plane won't just sit on a treadmill; it will move forward regardless of how fast the treadmill is moving.

Yes, I want to read that.
When he got his bill, it was 100 times as large as it should have been. When he called Verizon, it turned out that the plan was actually 0.2 cents (aka, 0.002 dollars) per KB.
The people advertising the plan, and all the customer services reps he talked to plus their managers, couldn't understand the difference between 0.002 cents and .002 dollars.

You've gotta be kidding me. The thread is here in full to be read and it doesn't need to be rehashed, he said but he said.
Those who were right about it from the start, raise your hands---now pat yourselves on the back.
Those who were wrong from the start, raise your hand---now shake the hand of someone else who was right.
Those who attempted to stay neutral about what would happen so they could claim to be right no matter what the outcome, raise your hand---and now swing your arm down and punch yourself in the junk. It's the internet, who cares if you're wrong, just learn a lesson in the end.
Let it gooooooooo.

MikeyCB, I don't mind discussing this with those people who have it wrong. It's fun. Reminds me of the 5th grade, when I had to educate a classmate on what "dark side of the moon" means.
