Can A Plane Take Off On A Treadmill?

He's been going on about how the treadmill will cancel the forward motion of the plane, even after eight pages of people explaining otherwise, Mythbusters' demonstration, and videos on Youtube.
It just seemed like he was trying to redeem himself; I don't know.

Well we know better than that. If the plane's thrust over comes the speed of the treadmill to propel it foward, it will take off provided, enough forward speed is generated.

That's just it though. There is nothing to overcome. It doesn't matter what speed the treadmill is going at, the plane will still move at what ever speed it wants.

I swear this thread is more frustrating than the Verizon dollar/cent phone argument

The speed of the treadmill has been proven irrelevant. The plane's thrust must overcome the friction of the bearings in the wheels AND THAT'S IT. After that, we can pretend the treadmill isn't there.
But, whatever.
Besides, what would I know about aircraft. Not like I worked on military aircraft for 6+ years...

I NEVER said it wouldn't take off. Read my original post.
But, whatever.
