Default Can regular TV handle HD TV Box?

Kinda weird question, if I have a HD TV box (DirectTV or cable), can I plug in my regular TV and still be able to watch the TV program? Of course, I would expect the quality to be just as other regular DirectTV or cable program.

Or do I must have HD TV to handle HD Box? (Or otherwise I can't see anything)

(my situation, may have to stuck with a regular TV for a few days before the HD TV show up)

most hd boxes have a component or hdmi output AND a 75 ohm coaxial output. If you use the 75 ohm coaxial output (the standard tv cable with the sharp pointy wire sticking out of the end) you are getting a standard non-hd signal.

Yes, you can assuming the box has the appropriate output. coax, composite, s-video, component.. whatever you need for your TV
