didn't realize the Coriolis force didn't really have a measurable impact when talking about smaller things...

1) Why does the water in a toilet spin as it goes into the drain?
2) Why does it always spin the same direction in the northern hemisphere, but in the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere?
3) Why does the force in a magnetic field always "spin" in a certain direction with respect to the related electrical current (right hand rule)?
4) Is there a place where this is reversed (i.e., an electromagnetic 'southern hemisphere'?)

2) As posted previously, it doesn't. Just depends on the design of the vessel, or any remnant of angular momentum in the fluid.
3) Magnetic and electrical fields interoperate perpendicular to each other. I can't find any reason WHY this is, just that it is. (Similarly, "why" is the gravitational constant what it is, why is the Planck constant what it is, why is the speed of light what is is, etc...?) As to why the phase cannot arbitrarily be either 0 or 180 degrees, again, I cannot find anything about WHY. As far as scientists have ever observed, it's always the way it is.
4) Not according to our understand of the laws of physics.

I don't remember... I think it was just called Parallel Universes. It wasn't Stephen Hawking, it was some other gray-haired dude on ice skates. I do think it was on Discovery Science, though.
