Try Airborne. It helped me get over a serious cold/sinus issue the day before New Year's Eve. It's worth a shot, at least you'll get extra vitamins.

 

Make sure dr does a swab for strep.
I was told my sore throat was viral. Put up with it for two weeks and ended up in hospital for two weeks with an infection in my spine, nerve damage to both arms and one leg. Cant prove it was caused by strep but.......funny how antibiotics cleared up throat and infection.
