pirates = steal shit for money
terrorists = inflict random acts of violence on a targeted group (country/culture) in order to create fear and further a political goal

^big difference in my opinion
Where do you think all of that money goes to? Who do you think supplies the pirates?

One Shot, One Kill times 3

Kudos to the marksmen on making some very difficult shots.

Reminds me of a shot taken by a Latin American law enforcement sniper a few years ago. Actor had taken a school teacher hostage with a knife to her throat. Actors head was 2 inches from hers. Shot was dispatched and made it's mark about 1 inch above the bridge of the actors nose. When their version of the ACLU went after the officer who gave the order, they asked why a negotiator was not involved. The Chief said we are a poor district, negotiators cost money. He picked up the spent shell held it for the TV cameras and said this cost $0.23's either way problem solved.

That is the way to resolve problems.

why does society feel the need to use extreme pigeonholing in every aspect?
Pirates=Terrorists at sea.

True, pirates usually directly steal money, but terrorists also steal money, just not always directly. They try (in the 9/11 case) to destroy an ecomony/way of life which takes the same money from the same people. you could also argue now that it is directly stealing money as they could short certain investments on the market knowing that they will be causing a large drop in the market.

last i checked, esp meant especially NOT exclusively.

Lets rewrite that and see what it describes.

the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce... "the transfer of money"..... or "at sea"

the pirates use violence and threats to capture ships and intimidate insurance companies to give them what they want. Is it always money? do you have a source for that? the definition also calls illegal violence piracy, the stealing/transfer of money is not necessary.

Now that they are on record as targeting and wanting to kill americans, that makes it political. are they NOW terrorists? Yes/No? last i checked kidnapping and killing specific nationalities or religions was terrorism, or maybe it is just genocide, a much nicer word the media uses to tell us how to think.
