Default Car Dealer Sales pitch

What's up fellow S2K'ers

So I go into the Infiniti Dealership with my Bro because we wanted to check out the New 08' Infiniti G AWD sedan for my wife. I was not planning on getting down, I just wanted to see what they looked like in person because I was checking them out online. Of course the sales man runs over and asks if he can help me. I responded with "I'm just looking" which I was and he goes to tell me "We only have one in the show room, why don't you come in." So I proceed to follow him and he gives me this line:

"So if we find you the car you are looking for at the right price are you willing to buy today"

I was like WTF, I just told the Dude I just wanted to look. He then turned me to his Sales Manager. Anyways, which brings me back to the topic. What lines have you heard while car shopping?

That's a reasonable question for him to ask. He's trying to sell a car and you are at least considering purchasing one, even if it's only an inkling. I don't really have any negative experiences to share, though.

Excellent choice of car by the way.

damn sounds a little pushy to me and i work in the car business

having you talk to his manager is a normal deal, really. it's just another face and point of contact with the dealership IMO. hopefully they didn't get to pushy with you there, especially since all decision makers weren't present.

honestly that line or something close to it is normal, but i really only ask something like that after a test drive is done and i'm getting the feeling the customer is truly interested and ready to buy. if i get the feeling they are not ready yet i just have to ask questions to see time frame for a purchase and such.

I don't think I've ever walked into a dealership and NOT heard that line...

....except at a Lexus dealership.

Ever notice how every used S2000 was owned by an old guy or a woman?

A salesman once told me that the price he was offering was only good for that day. If I walked out, he refused to give that "deal" to me at a later date.

I walked out. Guess whose heart was broken. Certainly not mine.

Someone gave me that line on a TT. I went to another dealership, bought an S4 and eventually went back to dealership #1. He gave me the slimy wink and said, "I knew you'd be back...."

I said, "Sure, to pick up a trunk mat for my new S4... it's parked right over there."

Did the same to the slimy BMW sales guy pitching the 335. Came back in the RS4. But in that case, I told him point blank that he was an ass.

I'm really slimy-adverse. I'd pay more to be treated like a person rather than a piece of meat. My wife's the same way. So to CrazyCracker... watch it!
