Getting a Master's is a good idea. Taking a step back from the working world will help you re-evaluate your goals. All you need is a few rare moments of clarity to help mold your future.

Who says you need to be good at accounting to be in the numbers field? Talk to PLYRS 3 about that I kid, I kid. He's a smart fella in a high-level accounting position. His job is a good example of the kind of thing that you might luck into if you think outside the box a little. PM him if you're interested.

I quickly read through your post and I wanted to know what kind of business would you call your own?

Is there a calling in your area that you could create a company out of?

What qualifications do you have in owning your own business.

If you need any help, I have two companies that I own!

Man, doesn't this sound like heaven! Also, the water fountains should dispense soda pop and we should get free ice cream for lunch everyday!

Well, I do have a few ideas:

1. Open up a specific Nissan/Infinity auto shop that works primarily on those cars. I am fully aware that would require A LOT of capital and I thought of this idea b/c in my area is a good shop that works on Honda's/Acura's already

2. Open up a consulting business for mortgage companies to help with compliance. I am currently a mortgage regulator/examiner with the state of VA.

3. A side project of selling stuff on e-bay or flipping cars.

Maybe part of this is the feeling that I am bored with finance stuff now. I enjoy planning my own finance's, but that's about as far as it goes. I'm starting to think I picked the wrong major when I was in school.

I would like a job where I don't have to work more than 10 hours per week, do only interesting things, don't have to work for people I don't like, and get paid $1,000,000 per year. Oh, and the job must come with the admiration of the general public as well.

Anyone have any ideas?

I tease some of my single friends. They're always talking about what they want in a woman, but there's never any discussion about what they're realistically able to "afford."

Keep in mind that the USA is one of the best countries for second chances. You can be a doctor, lawyer, politician, etc at any time of your life. But you still have to pay your dues from TIME=0. If you're 26 and start fresh in some careers, you might be competing against 18 year olds. That may be a benefit, or may not.

What I'm getting at is: most great jobs have hard work, training, and sacrifice as the foundation. People often want the end-product, but don't want to suffer through laying down the foundation.

Well I don't see why you can't do options 2 and 3 at the same time?

It's not like the ebay idea will bring in tons of income and being a consultant, you can make your own times.

I think you'd be good at those two options because they're very different and you seem interested in both!

Good luck with whatever you choose!

a dark side of an internet business is your suppliers want a cert check from you before they drop ship to your customer. all this difficult to do and maintain the newegg.com style shipping your customer is expecting. any internet based business will be more profitable than a store front.

can you use the degree you have? a masters will do more in some fields, nothing in others and its alot of work to get the added degree.

we all waist our time and talent at work.

i knew what i wanted to do when i was like 11years old. not an issue for some of us. whatever you like to do has to fit into a nitch market that pays. so:

look into what your current employer has that would not include travel. after that start that business, flip hud houses, invest, rebild 5th gen civics or whatever.
