Cell phone Samsung t339: anybody using this phone?

I just got it last week, and have been trying to load some mp3 and jpeg files into the phone, on the microSD memory card. The phone is not seeing anything I put on the card. From reading the manual I think there are 2 ways of putting files on the phone: [1] using t-Zone, which I don't have subscription to, and [2] physically connect a USB cable between the PC and the phone. I just ordered the cable, waiting for it to arrive.
In the meantime, I put some jpegs and mp3s on the microSD card, inserted it into the phone. The dang phone can't see any of those files. If you have this phone, let me know how you did it.
One more thing, I took a photo with the phone, wanted to use it as a Picture ID (associate it with a caller on the phonebook), couldn't get it to work either. There IS an option when I view the photo to set it as Picture ID, but I couldn't get it to work.
