I've had nothing but issues with cars from Enterprise! Faulty lights, a/c come to mind. Stick with Hertz or Avis and maybe Budget as a last resort.

I normally do AAA online and find out the cheapest car I can get for the duration I need it. Then I go to Priceline and bid lower and save some money.

Definitely don't use Alamo. Three weeks after I dropped the car off in perfect condition, they tried to stick me with a "damage" bill. I did some research and found out that apparently they do this to a lot of people. Very shady company!

not just Alamo almost all car rental places does this.

i rented a car from Dollar rental (it was cheapest on expedia) and i will never use them again. gave me car with dings and scratches and at the end they blamed me and i hardly ever drove that car it was parked at my hotel most of the time.

Where's Scot when you need him?

He'd probably tell you they all suck. Well, except for the one that really does suck, wherein he'd get top service from them, and then proceed to tell you you're all wrong.

tell the rental agency you wrecked your car and dont' have rental on your policy... most likely they'll give you the "insurance" rate... they're about 50% less than retail rates.

I know Enterprise needs to be at around 30 bucks a day average for "insurance" rentals for their books. you should get a good deal.

Always rent with an amex card. Free insurance for rentals. Just decline the rental company's coverage.

I had an issue once where someone swiped the car in a parking lot. Before I returned the car, I reported and documented everything with amex. Returned the car with all the info and never heard from either company again about it.
