I thought POST DATING a check was illegal?

edit...

Check kiting - Remember, when writing a check that, no matter how you do it, "post-dating" a check is illegal. And, most banks have policies that, no matter what date is on a check, it can be cashed. Check kiting is punishable by law.

the e-bill check function allows you to send a check to anyone in about 4-5 days on a date of your chosing. the major companies receive it in about 1-2 days.

I pay all my bills through automatic debit by linking them straight into my checking account. I could also setup automatic bill pay through webster bank but if something were to go wrong, its possible webster wouldn't pay it on time. This way, its the companies fault if the payment wasn't deducted on time. makes life very easy.. never a late payment. Just need to make sure you keep enough money in there

Depends on if the entity issuing the checks puts a stop on them or not. I'd imagine some places don't care, and some are very stringent about that 90-days, 180-days, or whatever.

Use to work for wells fargo in college, ohhh boy did we have pissed off customers, my manager got spit on and had to take the dude to court for assault. A month later he almost got knocked the F out by some huge wrestler looking dude. He made me push the alarm to get the cops. I was sooo happy I got to push the burglary alarm button, I always wanted to do it, was soo tempting!

really? wellfargo is that bad? I have had fairly good experience with them. they did charge me some stuff but they reversed it after I talked to them.
I had really bad experience with B of A in college. they changed the type of my checking acct without telling me. suddenly I had to maintain a min balance on an account I hardly ever use (1-2 checks a month) and I hardly ever look at the statement. Six months later I found out I was down $120 and I confronted them. They said "we thought you would benefit from upgrading the service". I closed my account and never went back.
