Just imagine your paper as 2 separate columns.
Left Column = the weird numbers
Right Column = the 10^# stuff
1. solve the left column first (professors usually like to give decimals to confuse you)
2. then solve the right column (remember, you can shift exponents up or down to get rid of the negative sign)
finally: combine the 2 columns (obviously by multiplication)
special tricks:
if your professor gives you an exponent with no weird number like this:
10^#
remember, there's always a 1.0 in front

1.0 x 10^#
1.0 is the weird number

Now I see what you mean. When I saw the whole problem it looked impossible especially with no information. But I just didn't know how to break it down. I am gonna copy the guide and use it like a cheat sheet. Thread
