this is unbelievable...i remember doing a report on cherynobl back in elementary school, but being a young kid they never had pictures like this in the books.....how horrible

Sadly enough, people still forgot or was never aware of it. My sister, who is now 15, has never heard of Chernobyl. She called some of her friends and none of them knew about it either.

It is so very hard to watch. You can't help but feel compassion for children that will be alive but never "live."

The children that couldn't walk was extremely powerful.

That reactor was a death trap, much like many of the old reactors of the old USSR. Some might still be. They weren't built with any saftey containment systems. The russians thought they were perfect. US reactors have such a system, the safety measures here in the US make such an occurance here so nearly impossible. I live within eye shot the the limerick power station.
