chiropractors
I've had this lower back problem thats lasted over a month now. I can't think of a particular incident that might have caused it, but due to my lifestyle it's probably more difficult to heal. People have been recommending me to see a chiropractor or acupuncture. Acupuncture is out of the question, because of my extreme needle phobia. As far as chiropractors go, I hear some miracle stories, and some horror stories. I know that if I go to one, I wanna go to a good one. I don't have medical or anything so a chiropractors my best bet.
Any recommendations on a good one in the Inland Empire area would be great.

chiropractice service is like cocaine. i went to one when i was quite small, to correct a hunched posture, and it was an euphoric discovery... doc cracked my back and my neck in about 50000 different ways. it felt good - such a relief - but from that point one i i built the urge to crack my own neck... which i never had to do before. now i do it multiple times a day. i have an appointment next week, actually, because im feeling lots of tension in the neck and lumbaric area

Go to a "real" doctor first so they can determine if you have a serious spinal problem or not.
I have a friend who had a lower back problem and went to a Chiropractor for ~3 months (once a week). He would feel better for a day or so and the pain would return. The pain became increasingly worse as time went on and it got to the point where he could not sleep at night. The Chiropractor increased his visits to 2-3 times per week.
Eventually he went to a "real" doctor, had an MRI and discovered that he had a serious problem and the Chiropractor was making the problem worse.
He's been having steroids injected into his spine once every two weeks for the last two months just to relieve the pain and is having back surgery next week.
His original problem was a minor lower back pain. His doctor said if he would have come in earlier, he could have been treated without the need for surgery.

Look at what happens with a typical chiropractor visit: You go in because of some pain or discomfort, geta "treatment" and feel better for a while, but have been told to return regularly for "treatment." You go regularly, until at some point, you realize it is eating up huge amounts of your income. At that point you stop going, and if the original issue persists, you go see a real doctor.
Moral of the story - save your money for a real doctor. If you just want a quick fix for a sore back, get a massage.

I do agree with one thing though, If the chiropractor is going to require consistent visits, I'll take my ass to a doctor instead. Many people have told me that they go one's and it'll all better.

I thought we had a chiropractor on board that might chime in.

My Chiro works on me after a massage therapy. Massage loosens up my muscles and joints, then my Chiro adjusts it by cracking. BTW, my Chiro employs the masseuse.

I know this sounds fruity, but try yoga. My wife had to start taking yoga for her MS about 4 months ago and I decided to go along with her for support.
For at least the past 10 years my back has been killing me from too much sitting in an office chair and general slouching around. After a tough yoga class I feel like a million bucks!
Plus the classes are in Huntington Beach and Newport Beach and full of TONS of smoking hot eye candy to enjoy while in class!
I win for supporting the wife.
I win for helping my back out.
I win for checking out chicks in skin tight outfits bent into positions you usually only see in "adult" flicks.
Woo hoo.
