Default The Christmas (or Holiday) thread.

I love this time of year, not just because of the days off of work and school, I just have always been blessed with a great family and fun times around the holidays.

I thought for others who feel the same you can post what ever you like about Christmas, Hanukkah, best toy you got as a child, favorite holiday memory, last Christmas you got to spend with a loved one no longer with us, whatever.

Even as an adult there are two things that I never miss every year. First is the Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer special. Yukon Corneilious and the Snowbeast rule.

The second is Charlie Brown Christmas which aired last night. Found my favorite part on Youtube, the Linus speech. No matter how old I get I still LOVE these two shows. Hope to get to watch them with kids of my own some day.

Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays. Peace on earth good will toward men.

I'm with you.

I love this time of year. I could stand outside like and idiot watching it snow for hours thinking of all the memories of past years.

When I was a little kid we always had our Christmas about 2-3 days early so my parents, brother and I could jump in the truck and drive down to New York to Grandma's for a second early Christmas, then to New Jerseyfor another one at other Grandma's on the morning of the 25th. Of course, this meant Santa had to come to our house in Toronto early. So every year my brother and I would go and ask him to pleeeease come early so we could go see Nanny and Grandma. Santa was very compliant. Every year we'd run downstairs and get all excited jumping around and hugging eachother yelling, "He came! He came!"

Last year when we calmed down, my parents told us the truth...

I love this time of year, such a great feeling all around. Definitely makes me want to be with the people I care about and miss from different points in my life.

Happy holidays and all that to everyone out there. Though this is sliiiiightly premature....

Oh, and there's no christmas movie that tops A Christmas Story. Damn that's a sexy lamp...

My birthday is on Christmas. When I was a kid I complained about being gyped, but now it's cool.

My family doesn't really celebrate Christmas but I can relate since Chinese New Years usually falls around my birthday and I always end up with one red envelope instead of two separate ones from my parents and relatives. It doesn't matter now because I no long get red envelopes. This year, Chinese New Years and my birthday will be on the same day.

As for the Holiday season, I'm fine with it. I do gather with my close friends for some good time. The only thing I really don't like about the Holiday season is that the radio stations starts playing Christmas songs the day after Thanksgiving all the way till New Years. I can't stand it.

Christmas is great! everything from the atmosphere, to cutting down a tree is a lot of fun. the thing i look forward to the most at Christmas is actually Christmas Eve. i think it stems from when i was a kid, we lived in NJ and the rest of my family lived 2-1/2 hrs away in PA. we always spent Christmas in PA and my grandparents had a big Christmas Eve party after church. now we all live about 15 minutes away from each other, still have a party though. i'm still always excited for when i wake up in the morning.

Presents. Presents, presents, presents.

And too much food. I think there was something about a baby and a manager. Or was it manger. What do I know.

Up until recently I didn't know the origin of the word "gyped" but used it all the time growing up.

What a gyp, I got gyped, etc.

Racist Gyped by a couple nappy headed hoes?

My aunts birthday is on Christmas. It's really not fair for kids. I would definitely separate the celebrations if it were my kid.
