I would definitely separate the celebrations if it were my kid.
It doesn't work, trust me.

I'm sorry for the lost birthdays of your youth. GroovyNeilNeil was planning 2 parties for you this year but he burned his furniture for heat. Maybe next year, Raptor.

ahahahah Raptor, my birthday is on Christmas Eve so i know EXACTLY what you're talking about.

As far back as I can remember, December 24th was Happy Birth-Christmas Day for me as well.

Aside from the usual "combining" of presents so people would only have to buy me one, I love Christmas time as well. All the fun memories growing up, watching snow fall, sneaking downstairs to look at the decorated Christmas tree at night... priceless memories.

The one thing that still gets me about Christmas [and winter in general] is how crisp the air is and how peacefully quiet everything is at night. yearly reminders of a simpler time growing up.

The only thing I really don't like about the Holiday season is that the radio stations starts playing Christmas songs the day after Thanksgiving all the way till New Years. I can't stand it.
I get you on that but for some reason there is this song by Manhiem Steamroller that I really get into. Its a synth version or God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen that I always blast. I don't know why but that song just gets me amped.

I also like the Bare Naked Ladies version. I guess I just like that song.

GroovyNeilNeil went horseback riding -- unsupervised -- for the first time last week. He was just about to fall off the horse, hanging on for dear life. Fortunately, Bobby, the Walmart greeter, saw this and walked over and unplugged the horse.

Up until recently I didn't know the origin of the word "gyped" . . . .
Nor, apparently, the spelling: gypped.

(That goes for you, too, Raptor!)

By the way, my birthday's ten days before Christmas, so I've experienced this sort of discrimination as well, though not as acutely as Raptor.

You can't correct our spelling of derogatory slang. It feels like some kind of contradiction....helpful with hatred.
