Very possible, you can make a civic fast as hell.

I do admit, the Viper had a crappy launch, but still a Viper only pulls low 12s. I have friends with all motor Civics who pull 11s.

i seen that video before.. i believe the car is a 20psi turbo/H22 powered civic... very likely to beat a viper.. the civic owner may have bragging rights..but i'll take the viper..

 

I still can't understand why anyone brags about this kind of thing. Put that motor in a Pinto and it would still beat the viper. Tweak the motor in the viper and guess what...it might beat the civic. You can't compare things like that. Yep, a fast car was beat by a faster car. Who cares what brand or dollar figure is on it? If the civic guy thinks he is cool than he needs to quit being insecure about his car and if the viper guy is ashamed then he can give me the car to enjoy.

This topic has been beaten to death, brought back to life, and then beaten some more. When will people learn that a modded civic beating a viper is not only nothing new, but really nothing to brag about. The Viper's speed and power comes from the factory that way, in order for a civic to beat a viper, it not only has to have an engine swap, but needs to be modded to the point where its not eve street legal. I mean, at that point, its not even a "civic" anymore.

I agree with the other guys on this thread that you can't compare the two. I mean, if I strap a jet engine onto a yugo it will blow the viper into the middle of next week. Do I get to brag that my Yugo beat a Viper?
