Vivaldi - 4 Seasons

Ooopppsss....didn't see that you had already posted that Triple-H. Good choice. It's a great one to have a symphony perform live. Speaking of which, I forgot to buy my tickets for that show...

I quite like Berlioz' "Symphonie fantastique", which is very intense listening music (full orchestral) and Mussorgsky's "Night on the bare mountain" (dark-ish heavy music).

But of course, you can't go wrong with good old Beethoven (like Symphony Nr. 2 and Symphony Nr. 5. )

As a matter of fact, I just put the last one up!!

If you like the four seasons you may like "Pastoral" by beethoven. Alot of Mozart string/violins are up beat good driving music.

a good mix of classical music would be my fav 2-disc set:
baroque's greatest hits.

esp. brandonburg concerto's 3 & 5.

brings back memories of playing the violin in middle school.

My personal favourite - Vivaldi - The Four Seasons

If you want a slightly different interpretation of the 4 Seasons, try a CD by Il Giardino Armonico (Italian for Sound Garden, but not the Sound Garden as we know them) called Il Prete Rosso (The red priest) - very good.

I also have not listened to a lot of Camille Saint-Saens, but the piece Havanaise is another personal favorite.

There is also a cd out there called "The only classical CD you will ever need". It covers all of the must haves.
