cloverfield final scene
Trying to make a film into cult status and trying to promote a "high brow" only the smart ones will get it is the hallmark of just about every bad movie made.
Of course it does make it get viewed more which is the goal of marketing anyway

the idea of the movie was brilliant but for only being 75 minutes long...there was about 50 minutes of dialogue. I know they were shooting for the whole realism thing but i can shoot a realistic depiction of me sitting in my room for 75 minutes and it can still be boring...just like this movie.

The movie didn't suck, it sucked for people who were ignorant about the nature of the film and viral marketing yet still went to see it. A satellite falls into the water on the right side of the screen.
no it sucked

I thought it was funny how when he would sprint with the camera, the camera still pointed mostly foward instead of ceiling, floor, ceiling, floor the whole time.
Whether or not it sucked is a matter of personal preference, no reason to fault anyone for liking it or not. I, personally liked the movie.
At the end you see a satellite owned by the company that the main character works for fall into the water. According to the director this, and the resulting effort to find and recover the satellite is what woke the monster from it's slumber in the ocean crevices. He also said that the monster was still a baby. Oh, and there's supposedly some audio at the end that if you play it in reverse it says "it's still alive."

I loved the movie. Thought it was an intense thrill ride. Plot? How the **** can you have a plot with a giant monster without the moving just being rediculous. Jurassic Park had a good plot and it was still pretttttty stoooopid.
Two thumbs up for cloverfield.

I think I was more irritated that I actually watched the movie, than when I watched The Village when it came out. Everyone in the packed theater booed. The movie explained nothing about itself, which I guess coincides with the whole "realistic" point of view. But whatever, I need closure at an end of a movie.
