College apps
As a senior in high school this is the time for college applications and I just finished my USC and UC a week ago. Now I have the Common Application for 5 more universities and they're due at the end of this month....how did many of you guys pull through during the application period?
By realizing that life didn't revolve around my sheltered little microcosm?
Read a newspaper. Things are really bad for lots of people
Feel lucky, man up, and do your applications.
In the big picture, you're a gnat's left testicle.

That, and I'm old enough to have gone to college at such time when admissions were at an all time low, and schools were competing for students. . . not the other way around.

I filled out 5, and was accepted by all of them.

Looking back, I should've gone to choice #1, but the deal from choice #2 was sweeter (at the time).

Oh I see i see, UC Davis and Riverside already said they'll accept me and all i had to do was apply to them, but yea my dream school is Cornell hahaha anybody here in or graduated there?

Look at it this way dude, you don't get in, go to CC, save money, and apply again in 2 years. That's what I'm doing, except it'll be 3 by the time I get out of CC 'cause I'm a slacker. Don't stress about it, **** all the UC's, the states are just as good.
I have a friend who's going to Cornell. I think she's studying Business Law there. ****ing sweet if you ask me. Good luck though!

I only applied to 3 universities. 2 of them were public universities in my state, and based on my standardized test scores and class rank were required to accept me, so I didn't have to write an essay for those apps.
The other was Stanford. They rejected me.
I wasn't particularly disappointed because UT was my "fallback" school, and it actually ended up being a better fit for me anyway.

With regards to your situation, I'd say that you should treat it like any other assignment. Prioritize appropriately (i.e., fill out an app for your preferred school first, then a fallback school, then the others in order of preference). Set goals & deadlines that allow for unexpected hiccups, then strive to meet them.

You live in Cali and you want to go to Cornell. You'd be back after one winter there
