You live in Cali and you want to go to Cornell. You'd be back after one winter there
hahahaha I just want to see what the culture's like in New York. My friend said everybody is mean in the heart of New York City, is it true or is it just a stupid generalization?

Cornell is nowhere near NYC, dude. It's a few hours north.

Too many people get "fooled" into going to upstate NY schools because they think it's at or near NYC. Well, they're not. You should visit first or you'll be in for a rude awakening. Upstate NY is like the total opposite of NYC.

I was there for a week on vacation once, and didn't find that to be true. My one experience of note was when I was standing on the sidewalk fumbling with my map and some random stranger came up and asked if he could help with directions. It wasn't a big deal, but since I had expectations similar to the ones you have, I was surprised. Overall, I'm sure it's like any other place. When you have that many people crammed into a small area, you're going to have good ones and you're going to have bad ones.

That always happens with NY and Chicago. People living hours outside the city still claiming it

Cornell is a fantastic school. However, given the option I'd much prefer Standford, UC Berkley, or UC Davis. You just can't beat the weather .

I ended up going to the branch campus for 1 semester and transfered to the main for the rest of college. Still got my engineering degree!
