Default for the computer wizards.

i recently had my computer re-installed windows xp because i had a virus of some sort on it and well, i tried to install starcraft (a game) and there is a problem

everytime i try to boot the game it turns the screen black and takes me back to my desktop.

the game is booted and ready but the computer seems not to want to show it on the sceen instead going to the desktop..

any suggestions or why this is?

You may need to install a DirectX or OpenGL driver maybe?

Steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check to see if the latest driver is loaded on XP pro for your video card.
2. lower desktop resolution to 1024X768 16bit
3. Make sure directX 9.0 is installed (latest)

What kind of card do you have?
