Corvette Forums Are Funny
Somewhere around here there was a link to a corvette forum (digitalcorvettes.com). As I browsed around I couldn't help but notice something funny.
First of all, I love all cars fast. Whether it's a vette, mustang, s2000, even a riced out civic...as long as it's fast.
But, if you've got a 1985 Corvette pushing 230hp from the factory, you're not fast. My Grandpa had an '84....slower than dirt.
I love what GM has done with the new Vettes. More and more power every year...and of course the new Z06....beautiful.
But a 1985 Vette is not a 2005 Vette....so stop acting like tough guys on the internet.
By the way, there was a pretty funny picture somewhere on there of the S2000 CR - Easter Edition.

The 1986 ZR-1 vette had over 375 HP and had a faster top speed than a C5 Z06! Just 'cause many vette owners are haters don't think mid-80's vettes were all crap. As it happens they are also a very good match-up for a S2000 at a typical auto-x course (depending on layout).

a good friend of mine has a c5 z06 corvette, and that shit is F-A-S-T.
yes, the build quality is ehhhhhhhhh to put it nicely. cheap plastics, the bumpers flex, the shifter/gearbox feels terrible, etc
but all in all it is a GREAT car. absolutely incredible handling. predictable, controllable oversteer whenever you want it, and three settings of traction control (on/competition/off) for your driving needs. the traction control is actually very good too.
his only complaint other than the build quality? its top end is not as fast as his single turbo supra
