Nah, they all get credit where they're due. That means the Miata gets recognized for it's Auto X abilities. That is all.

Same here. Traded in my S for a convertable C6 (manual). The cars cannot be compared as they are two completely different vehicles.
The fit and finish on my MY00 S was as good as that on my C6. By the way the top does not flop.
I know that it has been a few iterations of the S but, when it came out in 2000 it had is fair share of fit, finish, and mechanical problems.

With the above being said the S was one of the best cars I have ever owned.
