I very much prefer Costco over Walmart, though Walmart's prices are pretty cheap to veer away. It didn't become world's #1 for nothing. Smaller businesses have suffered greatly because of Walmart.

funny how no one mentioned 100% return w/o a question
Why was I questioned when I returned an unopened camera? "Is there anything wrong with it?" "No! Just found it cheaper elsewhere." That was a question.

I read somewhere that the markup on Costco merchandise is ridiculously low; they make most of their revenue on membership fees.
When you sell in bulk, you also buy in bulk, resulting in lower negotiated prices. Also, the Kirkland Sig. stuff is usually re-branded stuff, so that when they buy, Costco can negotiate a deal without the manuf. company worrying about additional marketing costs.

They make their money selling goods. It's just they get their margins from a different pricing model than standard retailers.

The thing I appreciate about Costco is that they do have excellent hiring/training/promotion policies. It's that PacNW we-appreciate-you-working thing.

The thing I hate about Costco is that since everybody goes there. . . well, f-it. It's often cheaper (time=money) to just go to the store. Plus, there's a Smart&Final near me.

Under location, it says "I'm sexy". So I'm wondering whether a sexy chick or dude.

I think Costco is a great place to shop for CERTAIN things...like things you might need in bulk for a party/social gathering and such...or if you had a big family to feed...otherwise, I don't see any reason to shop there...I personally don't need a 30 pound bag of flour or a 2 gallon jug of ketchup in my apartment...though, I wouldn't mind having one of those HDTVs they have on display...

It still kinda wierds me out how they actually sell clothes there too...haha, I remember going there a few years back and passed by a pallet with Dockers khakis...it was funny seeing folks actually measuring them up against their legs (or using the "never fail" waistband-around-the-neck trick), with their shopping carts filled with gargantuan food products sitting next to them... Oh well, I guess it's convenient for some folks to shop for clothes AND gigantic portions of food at the same place...

A point of reference and relevance is much appreciated. Thanks.
No relevance to the topic, just curiosity.
