For all the guys that want to support their local business. Just exactly how many Mom and Pop Electronics and Groceries are there in your neighborhood? I mean come on, besides a local bodega, I can't imagine supporting a local business for groceries, they don't carry everything which means I still have to go get it from the chain stores. For electronics, it's probably even harder, if you want to pay more from a Mom and Pop retailer that's your perrogative, but be realistic, local businesses aren't really competing with Costco, Target, Walmart.
Mom and Pop stores no longer provide "retail" type products. They have all more or less shifted to service products, i.e., dry cleaners, restaurants, locksmiths, etc.
You'd be hard pressed to find a mom and pop that sells clothes as its main form of revenue. IF you did, then they aren't going to be in it for long regardless of your patronage.
My friends bought a 3 liter bottle of Bacardi from Costco in Cabos San Lucas, Mexico. I love my Costco. Even if their prices are higher on electronics their return policy is usually better than any purchasable warranty on consumer electronics.
I now officially HATE Costco.
I went in for the $1.50 hot dog (while I was shopping for other things) and found out they don't have anything but Coke products!!
I can't even imagine that!!
Coke bought another company off.
