Countdown to "24" Season Premier...
[QUOTE=Drunken_Monk,May 23 2006, 01:09 PM] Ah what a great night of TV that was! One of the best lines I think was when Chloes ex-husband dropped off the equipment and says
I think it would be bad ass if next season the Chinese were under attack from terrorist, and they decide to let Jack free so he can find these guys and bring them down. Maybe the writers can make it so it's a terrorist who Jack may have dealt with in the past. I think Jack has to do something to get the Chinese off his back. If he escapes next season, then we the viewers are always gonna be saying "where's the Chinese" I'm sure if he escapes they won't just say damn he got away oh well. No, they will keep coming for him. He needs to do something for China to forgive him, and helping them dodge a terrorist attack would do it.
I know its a long shot, but I think it could work.
Also why did the Chinese guy tell him he's much too valuable to kill? What could they use him for?

Prediction for next season
Scenario "A"
Next season will start with Jack being back in the US as a "terrorist".
The back story is he taken to a secret Chinese prison, perhaps an island off the China coast - like our Guantanamo Bay - where all the badies go there. During his imprisonment, Jack overhears a plan to attack the US from other the prisoners. He also finds out that they are planning a prison break.
During the prison break, the leader (Let's call him Larry for now - L for Leader, I know it's corny but it helps me remember) of the terrorist group is caught in danger of getting killed or not escaping. One of the members maybe the brother of Larry (Let's call him Sam - he will be the suspicious one) of his group sees Larry struggling. Instead of helping Larry, Sam runs to save his own ass. Larry see this and cusses under his breath that his own brother left him to rot. All of a sudden Jack appears and saves Larry.
Jack follows Larry out of the island prison where a boat/plane/copter/ truck is waiting. The terrorist group get into the vehicle and Jack tries to get on as well but he is stopped. He is stopped by Sam who has a cocked gun pointed at Jack's face and getting ready to shoot. Larry steps out from the back and stop Sam and let's Jack on.
The group head to the nearest major US city - Los Angeles. On the long trip back to LA, the leader still suspicious of Jack will question who Jack really is - Jack of course gives him a cover. Sam keeps his tabs on Jack more than the others unconvince that Jack save Larry is for real. Jack tries to get word to CTU that there will be an attack in LA soon but was stopped short because Sam almost catches him. Sam tells Larry what he suspects Jack is doing.
Larry has Jack in cuffs now with a gun pointed at Jack's head. Jack pleads his case to Larry that he's not the spy or traitor and that it's Sam. Then we hear a gunshot, the next scene Sam has a bullet hole in the forehead. Larry killed his own brother believing Jack instead - also saving his ass helps too.
Larry then lets Jack into their plan a little - but holding off the majority of the plan because he still doesn't fully trust him. As soon as they land in Los Angeles Jack was given an assignment by Larry. During his assignment, he purposefully looks directly into a security camera to leave clues to CTU that he is alive and helping them. The terrorist act goes boom and the season begins.
During the season Jack foils Larry's plan on attacking LA, so Larry then goes after the Chinese Consulate located in LA. Jack foils that plan as well and kills Larry before he does he find out some high ranking radical Chinese Government Official (like the Chinese Walt Cummings) was was helping Larry. Jack gets Chinese Walt Cummings and hands him over to the Chinese secretly. The Chinese appreciates Jack handing over Chinese Walt secretly to prevent further embarrassment to their gov't. So the Chinese and Jack calls it even.

2) How Logan got caught confessing was a little iffy to me... Jack was basically alone when he hatched the plan to make Logan confess. He couldn't make him confess so he used his back up bug to get him. The thing that I didn't get was... Jack didn't tell anyone his plan. So how did Ms. Logan knew that the President was bugged?

But I'll say it again this whole China thing would work great for the movie. Maybe season 6 will show Jack back in LA, then the 24 movie could come out later as a prequel of season 6
Just a thought, but was Logan ever actually elected President. I'm just curious because I know Logan is done, and the next President would be the VP, but if Logan was never elected, and he was just put into office by succession, then wouldn't the next person in line be the speaker of the house?
Logan became president after the first one got hurt/(killed?) in the season 4 plane crash. Now Logan has to take over for that Prez. he doesn't get a fresh 4 years, he starts where the other left off, and if anything should happen to him, the next in line is the Speaker of the House. So the key to finding out is I need to know how much time was the president before Logan in office? We know it was 18 months since season 4, so that can only mean that season 4 had to have been an election year.
Yea yea I know, but it's a slow day at work

What impressed me was that in less than 10 minutes the chinese kidnapped Bauer, beat the shit out of him, and then transported him from a very secure area and got him out on a huge cargo ship out in the middle of the ocean.
