Scenario 1A
Everything is same as Scenario 1 except it's not a secret Chinese island prison. The ship we see in the last esp doesn't go to China instead it just goes far enough off the coast of California to be in International Waters - whatever distance that might be, Nautical members please chime in.
The ship, itself is the secret Chinese prison - a floating prison. The Chinese Consulate uses this ship to specifically deal with "American" problems. So they their nasty dees while staying near Cali - the best of both worlds.
The way Jack and the other prisoners escapes is either by boat or copter, the last shot shows a copter pad. So getting back to Cali isn't so far - an hour or two?

That's true 2 hours on a small copter might be boring for Jack... Perhap they take over the ship and come back on it.
Imagine Jack loose on the ship, going around taking out the whole crew. Then the show could end with a CTU helicopter finally making it to the ship to pick up a blood soaked Jack
