don't deposit the check, cancel your transaction with the guy and send him back the check...end story.

Don't send it back. Send it to the FBI or the Attorney General. The A.G. in Seattle is always looking for these types of scams.

the FBI doesn't deal with international crimes, the FBI is primarily a law enforcement agency, collecting intelligence related to domestic security and performing crime investigation. As for the AG it's probably out of their jurisdiction.

These scams are always international, it's harder if not impossible to catch them.

Does this not count as Cyber Crime? The FBI has a cyber crime division that I thought dealt with this kind of stuff. I suppose they probably just forward it onto the IC3.

wow, I've not seen that video before. Thanks for posting it.

I think it all just comes down to awareness that people need to know not to send out their information to people. I still wonder how people have not heard of these scams yet.
