I have a cwp and keep it holstered, a round chambered, and on single action. I'd be very interested in a holster as well since there isn't really a good easy access location in the car.

BTW, for the record.... if you're worried about car jacking, the gun should be kept next to the door, where you'd reach to get the door handle and exit the vehicle. This is where I (hypothetically, if I had a CCW) keep my gun.
I'm right handed and certainly am not nearly as agile with my left. So, if I kept it next to the door, I'd have to pick it up with my left, put it in my right, then cock and aim.

Sounds a little much than just cocking and aiming with my right hand in a more natural motion.

i used a cheapo holster that i found at the sporting goods store for ten bucks. just sewed a strip of velcro to it and a piece under the edge of my seat where i had easy access to it. worked great. i'm right handed. now the car is all race and doesnt get driven enough so i took it out and put it in my truck. also as someone else mentioned, fobus makes a good line of vehicle mounting solutions that may work well

If your getting carjacked by someone with a gun, you'll likely be dead by the time you get the gun out of the holster if they see you reaching for a firearm. Just give them your damn car, what the heck do you pay for insurance for anyways.

You are giving the average carjacker way too much credit.

Only God can judge a carjacker, but I can do my part and arrange a meeting.

My thoughts exactly.

It's the responsibility of those of us who carry firearms to rid the world of people who commit violent crimes.
