What you said above, there have been days I've ridden around just t-shirt I pictured a cigarette going down my shirt... EEEK, that would suck.

There are inconsiderate smokers just like there are inconsiderate non-smokers.

It sucks that inconsiderate smokers litter and endanger others as well as the environment, but it's not fair to let them characterize all smokers. I sometimes see people toss fast food wrappers out their car windows, too, but does that mean all fast food eaters do it? Certainly not.

For the record, I quit smoking several years ago. But when I was a cigarette smoker, I never tossed butts out of the window. I kept them all in my ashtray and emptied it every few days.

I don't think there is such a thing as "resposible smokers" or "considerate smokers." There is no logic to that.

There are some considerate smokers. A friend of mine smokes, but she goes outside and away from others. She doesn't smoke in her car or mine. She doesn't toss butts on the ground. It's perfectly possible to be a considerate smoker.

I should have known better. Smokers are usually really defensive. My mother smokes so I know first hand. I don't debate. It's just an opinion. I would never intentionally offend anyone so I'm sorry if I did.

^^ I don't think you offended anyone. However, FWIW, I'm not a smoker. I was just thinking of some folks I know who really do go out of their way to try not to annoy us non-smokers.
